Family Connection # 2 2009

 “Isaac and Rebekah”

This year at FaithWalk we begin with a 9 week study of the Old Testament. The story of Isaac young years and his marriage to Rebekah can be found in Genesis 22-25. The goal for this story is to show that God's faithfulness can be seen in extraordinary acts of salvation and ordinary blessings of family.

Students ask your parents the following questions and record their answers:

1.    In Genesis 24, we read the story of Isaac and Rebekah getting married. Look at pictures of people in your family on their wedding day. What memories do you have?

2.    What photos, jewelry or stories do you have in your family of past generations?

3.     We have all been blessed by God and we are now called to share those blessings. As a family, surprise someone with a random act of kindness. The plan can be simple or elaborate: a surprise dessert delivered to their door or a chore completed secretly for someone else. What did you do?

Pray together: Dear God, Thank you for being an extraordinary God. We ask that you would guide us in our ordinary lives. Help us to see the blessings you give us every day and to share those blessings with others. Amen

Try memorizing this Bible verse together: “Now faith is the assurance of the things hoped for, the conviction of the things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
