“The Renewing of Our Minds”

In this month’s Bible study from Romans 12-13, Paul calls us to live differently because we owe our allegience to the Lord. As gifted, graced human beings, our first call is to live in gratitude to God for what we have received.

Campbell's_Labels_for_Education

As the weather turns colder and soup is on the menu, remember to save the labels for education. Labels for education can be found not only Campbell’s products, but also on Pepperidge Farm, V8, Prego, Spaghetti-O’s, and Swanson products. Check each product for which part of the label you need to save or go to labelsforeducation.com/pdf/eligible_products.pdf.

Bring the labels or UPC’s to the church kitchen or put them in the Preschool mailbox. St. Mark Preschool has received many free school items for the children from Campbell’s.

Health Kits

health_Kits_2525a_flash

For years the women at St. Mark have collected items for health kits that are sent all over the world. After the earthquake, 650 health kits were sent in the first shipment to Haiti and more will be sent later, making the supplies at Lutheran World Relief desperately low.

Health kits include bar soap, washcloth and hand towel, adult toothbrush in package, nail clippers, six bandaids in a rubber band and a comb.

“In the aftermath of a disaster, when people are living in very close quarters and without adequate sanitation, the spread of disease is a very real concern,” said Trevor Knoblich, LWR’s program coordinator for emergency response. “Something as simple as a bar of soap can make such a big difference.”

The WOW! and FaithWalk youth, as well as anyone from the congregation can join with us to collect items to make health kits for Lutheran World Relief. A collection box will be in the narthex.
